Hair Care Recipes for Women

Here are some homemade natural hair care recipes and treatments that you can do at home to make your hair look lovely.

  • Olive Oil and Egg Yolks

Egg and Olive Oil for Hair

With two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil mix two egg yolks and a cup of water to dilute. Massage your scalp with the mixture and coat your hair thoroughly with it. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Use once or twice a month.

 

 

 

  • Banana Mask

Banana mask for Hair

 

 

Peel a banana and make a paste out of it. Put the paste in your hair and cover with a plastic bag. You can use a blow dryer to set the paste in your hair.

Leave for 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

 

 

 

  • Caffeine 

Caffeine Powder

 

Mix 4 ounces (113gms) of caffeine powder with 8 ounces (226gms) of your shampoo and apply to your hair.

Mix Caffeine powder with water and spray in your hair before taking a shower.

You can use this spray on a daily basis but only once a day.

 

 

 

 

  • Avocado and Coconut Oil

Coconut and Avocado

Massage your hair with warm coconut oil (do not make it hot) starting from the roots to the tips of your hair.  Make a paste of the avocado and cover only the tips.

Leave it for 30 minutes and rinse. For better results repeat once a week.

 

 

  • Coconut and Curry Leaves

Curry Leaves and Coconut

 

Boil coconut oil and curry leaves and gather the black residue that starts to form in the pan. Let the residue cool and apply to the hair.

Use twice a week to reduce grey hair and improve growth. Do not fry the curry leaves in the oil or you will not get the proper tonic.

 

 

  • Honey and Onion Juice

Honey and Onion Juice

 

Take juice of one onion and mix it with one to two teaspoons of honey. Apply the mixture where hair is thin and leave it overnight. You can also apply the mixture all over the hair. Shampoo the next morning.

You can also add any scented oil to the mixture to counter the onion smell before applying to the scalp.

  • Almond Oil

Almond Oil

You can use regular Almond oil for this treatment.

 

Massage the oil into your hair and leave it for 15 minutes. Start from the scalp and work your way down to the tips of your hair.

Rinse it after 15 minutes.

Do this once a week for nourishing the hair and twice a week for dry and damaged hair.

 

  • Mayo Massage

Mayonnaise

 

Damp your hair a bit and massage the mayo in your hair from roots to the tips. Leave it for about 20 minutes and rinse out with warm water and a diluted shampoo.

  • Vinegar

    White Vinegar

 

Mix one part white vinegar to two parts water. Add any scented oil to it to disguise the smell of the vinegar. Apply it to your hair. Use twice a week and thereafter once or twice a month once you start to see the difference in your hair texture.

Rosemary

 

In about 300ml of water mix 2 teaspoons of crushed rosemary leaves. Massage it into your hair, starting from the tips and moving upward to the scalp.

You can leave it on for the entire day and there will be no need to shampoo afterwards.

 

 

  • Lemon Juice and Coconut Oil

Lemon and Coconut

 

Take two parts of warm coconut oil (do not make it hot) and one part lemon juice and massage the mixture into the scalp. Leave for at least 6 hours or overnight is preferred.

Rinse with cold water the next morning.

 

 

 

  • Aloe Vera and Burdock Oil

Aloe Vera and Burdock Oil

Take one teaspoon for Aloe Vera and Burdock Oil; to this add 5 drops of rosemary, basil and lavender oil mixture (1 teaspoon each of Rosemary, Basil and Lavender oil mixed together).

Massage your hair thoroughly with this mixture and leave it in your hair for as long as possible. The longer the better.

 

 

  • Oatmeal Mask

Take half a cup of regular oats, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and half cup milk and mix it into a thick consistency. Apply the mask to the hair and let it sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with regular shampoo.

The mask fights grey hair and promotes hair growth.

 

 

  • Olive Oil and Lemon

In a bowl mix two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice and water. Mix together and massage into your scalp and wrap your hair with a warm towel.

Keep for 20 minutes and rinse with shampoo.

 

 

  • Yogurt and Egg

Egg and Yogurt

 

Heat one egg until foamy, add yogurt and mayonnaise to it and mix until it forms a smooth paste. Massage the scalp with the paste and cover with a plastic bag.

Leave for one hour and then rinse.

 

 

 

  • Castor Oil

Castor Oil

Massage several drops of castor oil into your scalp thoroughly. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave overnight. Rinse next morning. You can do this once a week.

Mix a few drops of Olive oil, almond oil and Castor oil and massage into scalp. You can, alternately, add a few drops of castor oil in your conditioner.

When using with conditioner, you can use it on alternate days.

 

  • Egg and Henna

Eggs and Henna

Form a paste by mixing egg, henna and water. Leave for 1 hour and add lemon juice. Blend together and apply the smooth paste to your scalp and hair starting from the roots to the tips. Let it sit till it is completely dry or leave it overnight.

Use lukewarm or cool water to rinse and then shampoo.

Use this mask only once a month or every other month.

 

 

  • Chamomile Tea and Garlic

 

This mask has a lot of ingredients. You will neGarlic and Chamomile Teaed 3 tablespoons of Chamomile Tea, one tablespoon of garlic juice, one tablespoon of aloe vera gel, one tablespoon of honey, 3 cups water, and one egg yolk.

Boil tea with water for about half an hour stirring in between, in the meantime mix the garlic juice with honey and refrigerate.

Once cool, mix the garlic and honey mixture with the egg yolk and aloe gel. Massage into your scalp and tips of your hair and let it sit for 20 minutes.

Wash with a mild shampoo and after that rinse your hair with the chamomile tea and let it stay. Use this treatment once a week.

  • Vitamin E

Vitamin E

In a bottle, add a quarter cup of Vitamin E oil, a quarter cup of Jojoba oil, 15 drops of rosemary essential oil and peppermint essential oil. Mix the oils thoroughly and massage into the scalp and leave overnight.

Wash hair with cool water and shampoo.

Use this mixture 2 to 3 times a week.

 

 

 

 

  • Essential Oils

Essential Oil

 

In a bottle mix together, two drops of cedar, two drops of thyme, three drops of rosemary, an ounce of grapeseed oil, and one tablespoon of jojoba oil. Massage into your scalp and leave overnight.

Rinse with shampoo and cool water the next morning.

You can do this 2-3 times a week.

  • Beer

Beer

 

Use a cup of room temperature, flat beer after shampooing the hair. Let it sit for a few minutes and rinse with cold water.

Beer can be used once or twice a week.

 

 

  • Honey and Olive Oil

Honey and Olive Oil

In a bowl, take 5 tablespoons of Olive Oil and add a few drops of Honey, stirring continuously. Keep adding honey a few drops at a time till you get a smooth consistency. Massage the mixture into damp hair. Cover with a plastic bag or shower cap.

Leave it on for one and a half hour and rinse with shampoo. You can use this mixture once or twice a week.

 

  • Aloe Vera

In a small bowl add 4 ounces of water and 4 ounces of aloe gel and mix. Put in a spray bottle, ass a few drops of essential oil and shake well. Spray into the hair.

Use this daily or as often as you want.

 

 

 

  • Rosemary and Coconut

Rosemary and Coconut

 

In a saucepan, measure 3/4 cup coconut milk and 2 teaspoons of Rosemary leaves. Cover with a lid and simmer for 25 minutes on low heat, stirring frequently so that the coconut milk does not burn. Strain the milk into a container and add 1 teaspoon of Vitamin E Oil. Clean your hair as usual and pat dry. This mixture is good to use twice. Massage half of the milk mixture and comb your hair. Cover with a shower cap or plastic bag and let it rest for an hour.

Rinse your hair with warm water.

You can store the remaining mixture in the refrigerator and use within 10 days.

 

  • Vodka

Vodka

To your deep conditioner add a shot glass of vodka. Alternately, add vodka to avocado, eggs, honey or mayonnaise. Add a few drops of essential oil and spread on hair.

Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse.

Use this treatment every two weeks or once a week.
